Insulation Square Foot Calculator for Gabled Buildings
Use this handy calculator to estimate how much insulation is needed for your gabled building. Enter the dimensions of the structure, select the slope of the roof, identify the open (uninsulated) areas and the calculator will display the estimated square foot requirement. Additionally, the estimater will tell you the amount of patch tape and double sided tape recommended for the project. Once you know the square footage needed you will easily be able to calculate the number of rolls of material needed. For example, if your square footage requirement is 3000sf and you are planning to use 6' x 25' rolls (150sf) of R-30 unfaced material, you would need 20 rolls for the project (3000 / 150 = 20).
